BLACK FRIDAY 29 NOVEMBER 2024

November 28, 2024

Hey folks. We know you’re getting chased with lots of offers for things getting cheaper and cheaper. It used to be common in our industry to offer 15% off on Black Friday itself. Then it became 20% starting on the Wednesday. Now it’s Friday and I’ve been seeing 25%, 30%, even BOGO (!) for the holiday.

I don’t begrudge anyone on this: in all business, sometimes you just need to sell something and keep the lights on. We think our work still has value and is worth paying for, and I’m also loathe to undercut our retail partners and friends. So instead, we’re going to give you first shot at some curiosities, and if you miss out, we may release some these to our retailers (along with other fun stuff we are putting out just for them soon).

So let’s get it started! Product and purchase links under each picture. If you purchase multiple items, we’ll combine them and rebate whatever discount we get on shipping. Also, our International shipping calculator can be a bit brutal (we haven’t figured out quite why?) so if that gives you pause, we promise to rebate any difference between what you were charged and what we paid.

The VERY last of the original Wave Cannon/ Cannonball handwired boards are in these handpainted Cannonballs by Laura Bennett. Known for her work with Z.Vex, Penny Pedals, and other builders, Laura has built some timeless stuff for us for over a decade. She painted the first Cannonballs, so I think it’s appropriate she paints the last of them. These are gorgeous, wired to the same spec we did for Chris Cornell years ago – havoc/mute on the momentary switch, and a voltage sag for the fifth knob. We have a handful of these for sale here, and once they are gone, they’re gone.

The last of our black Alpha Gain pedals is now available. We modified these Icarus V2 devices to widen the range of gain for consecutive April Fools’ Day releases. The BRIT side is a lot more gain, a bit of an attenuated bass response, and lots of punch. It’s a delightful overdrive. The USA side is cleaner, higher headroom, and plenty of volume. Think of it as expanding the size of your guitar and amp cabinets: a 1×12 will sound like a 2×12, a 2×10 becomes a 4×10, and a 4×12…well, that becomes two of them! It still features mismatched germanium and silicon diodes for a creamy yet clear response. We literally only have a few left, so if you want this, come and get it.

Years ago, we did a batch of “BATTLEZONE” Somersaults for a retailer and friend and they sold like hotcakes. They had these fun PCB plates on top for a cool graphic and were a change of pace from our stylized look. We’re bringing it back with an “ASTEROID” batch as both vintage arcade games used the same typeset…but we’re adding a twist. In the early development stage, our Somersault had the capacity for a longer lag time that sometimes went a bit…haywire. I got talked out of it for the release, but we’ve brought it back for these. It can still do the shorter times, it’s just finer to dial in. The longer times are quite fun. And yep, we’ve got a batch of this version to sell on the Somersault page.

And of course, a batch of our flagship drive device is available again direct on our site, as well as through our retailers. This run in distinctive terra cotta red hearkens back to everything we’ve done with this pedal and look forward to continuing for our customers. It’s noisy, it’s nice, it’s gnarly, it can be broken sounding, or rich and creamy and beautiful. We hope you love it. Have I mentioned it’s also amazing on BASS? Get saved by zero here.

HOODIES ARE BACK IN STOCK…kinda! We have a batch of them in some sizes, and damn if these aren’t nice as hell. My personal one is on year three and is just getting more and more comfy. Made by Next Level for a flattering fit, and printed by our friends at Image Ink.

And we’ve reloaded a bunch of our shirts and merch, including the fan-favorite “Lo-Fi/Wi-Fi.” Hope you dig them!

AND THANK YOU. We’re thankful that we get to make these things for you, and to see and hear how you’ve put them to use in ways we’d never have expected.
