Years ago I remember thinking, “gosh, this dude has some serious chops!” when I sat in with young Evan at a house party jam. Evan is now a polished, gifted player, and his rocking band Honor By August are making some serious waves. We are thrilled to have a Wave Cannon among the many sonic tools at Evan’s disposal on his board. When he sent me a pic, he called it his “shiny new weapon of awesome.”

We encourage and welcome people to check out Honor By August – great songs, great playing, and a great show. Fellow musicians – pay close attention to how Evan manages to never take anything off the table. He uses sonic textures, playing dynamics, effects, chord voicings, and lead lines to work with the melodies and enhance the performance of the song and group as a whole. If you’re jonesing for him to do some “look at me look at me I practice my scales wheedily wheedily wee!” moments, you might be in for a long night. But if you want to hear a BAND sound great, and a guitar player doing their part, you’re going to really enjoy what Evan and his mates are up to.
In its young career Honor By August has already played arena stages, had its music broadcast to millions and won the Grand Prize in Billboard’s World Song Contest.

Their music has been broadcast to millions many times over though popular outlets like ESPN, and they have worked with Grammy-winning producers, mixers, and engineers including Jack Joseph Puig (U2, Snow Patrol, Rolling Stones), Paul David Hager (Goo Goo Dolls), Jeff Juliano (John Mayer, Lifehouse, Jason Mraz), Jim Ebert (Butch Walker, Meredith Brooks) and Toby Wright (Third Eye Blind).
Honor By August has played to single crowds as large as 20,000, from arena shows at the Verizon Center, McDonough Arena and Innsbrook Pavilion, to headlining multiple shows at one of the nation’s premier theaters, the 9:30 Club (DC), to performances at notable national venues like the Bowery Ballroom (NYC), The Roxy (LA), the Blender Theater, Mercury Lounge and Knitting Factory main stage in NYC, Viper Room (LA), Ram’s Head Live (MD), Middle East main stage (MA), Toad’s Place (VA), Cain’s Ballroom (OK), House of Blues Cleveland (OH) and many, many others across the country.
