One of our very first Wave Cannon customers ever is Chris Keup, producer and songwriter extraordinaire, at White Star Sound Studios near Charlottesville, Virginia. Â When I first met Chris, he told me his favorite comic strip character was Hobbes. That was a promising sign.
In 2000, ASCAP presented him with the Sammy Cahn lyricist award in a Lincoln Center ceremony (other past winners include John Mayer, Josh Ritter and Lori McKenna). His work has been featured at the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, and numerous ASCAP showcases. In 2008, Chris signed a joint publishing deal with Chrysalis and Notable. Â As a writer and collaborator, he has worked across a variety of genres with artists on labels including Warner Bros., Universal, Elektra, Atlantic, Mercury, Nettwerk, Chrysalis, Virgin, and Ivy League. His songs have appeared in numerous TV shows and films, including Grey’s Anatomy, The O.C., The Heartbreak Kid, and others.
White Star Sound is a private, state-of-the-art recording facility located on a historic farm outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. Keup and his production partner Stewart Myers have produced more than 50 recordings by major label, independent, and developing acts. For more information, click here to visit their site.
