DISPATCH FOR THE 4th OF JULY 2025

July 4, 2025

Alright friends, here’s the fast and dirty rundown. WAVE CANNON: AMBER WAVES OF GAIN is a limited run of 25 pedals for the 4th of July.

What makes it special? Well, the “Amber Waves of Gain” (which was the original working title for the Wave Cannon back in 2009) version uses matched Toshiba 1S1588s, the original TS diodes, in a symmetrical array to ground like a classic RAT circuit. Our take is because they distort faster, they’re not as loud nor as versatile as the mismatched LEDs we normally use in the Zero…but there’s something to them that is very fun in a classic way. Like a freshly groomed pet, they are hairy, furry, yet smooth. And our pedal still has PLENTY of volume on hand – more than the classics – so if you like running lower gain and hitting the preamp with volume, you can still do that with style. .

We have clips for you to enjoy and consider, but if you want to go get it, just visit the Wave Cannon Zero product page and select the “Amber Waves” variant. We’ll sell these until they’re all gone, and be donating a percentage of the proceeds to Undue Medical Debt, a nonprofit that helps with an unfortunately & particularly American crisis.

Enjoy the clips here! Our dear friend Jon Warf came in to play some classic riffage and have some hangs. Go check out his band MIDS.

Here’s something a little different. We know podcasts and stuff like this is for you to enjoy while you fold your laundry, mow your lawns or have to take a long drive. Our dear friend Matthew Farrow from Disaster Area Design & Alexander Pedals was in town, so we filmed this with questions from YOU for us. We debate Star Wars vs Star Trek universes, whether we’d rather be forty feet tall or three inches tall, and other fun questions from y’all via Instagram.

Thanks again for being our people. With the news lately the Fourth feels super weird this year, but we’re not going to let it take our joy. Don’t let it take yours either. Have a good one.
